The game "Millennium" itself is a puzzle centered around a countdown (or "count-up"). Players need to think about the past, present, future, and the rules of time through repeated loops, find seemingly impossible loopholes, and escape the endless time loop.

The term Millennium comes from the Millennium Bug, also known as the Y2K Bug. It refers to the logical errors and system failures that occurred in early computer programming because developers, due to high storage costs, used only two-digit numbers (MM/DD/YY) to represent the year, causing the system to be unable to correctly distinguish "2000" from "1900" when crossing the millennium (from 1999 to 2000).

In the game, when the player's timer reaches certain times, it will go back to a specific point. Players will rely on a mysterious time machine to try to find the Bug and escape the time loop.
